A new game company, ALB Games, is shaking up both the book and gaming worlds by bringing interactive, discussion-driven play into books and audiobooks.
Their mission: to make games which challenge players to think critically about the world — past and present — through creative, thought-provoking gameplay.

Known for developing games in books and audiobooks, the company takes on everything from the current art market with sky high prices to the global housing crisis and the mysteries of early human civilization. Each title combines knowledge, strategy, and conversation, bridging entertainment with education.
Turning Headlines into Games
One of the company’s most anticipated releases is Art Market, a game inspired by headlines and controversies from the world of contemporary art — including infamous pieces like the banana taped to a wall and the gold toilet sculpture. In Art Market, players compete to amass the most impressive collection of paintings and sculptures by placing strategic bids at tense auctions. But fortune favors the clever, since players must avoid disasters such as art thefts, forgery scandals, and financial losses. Victory goes to the collector with the most art holdings when the final gavel falls.
Another timely release, Builder, takes aim at the global housing and affordability crisis. Designed for 4–6 players divided into two teams, the game challenges players to build a thriving real estate portfolio — starting with a single-family house and progressing to townhouses, apartment complexes, and eventually office buildings. But in this economy, nothing comes easy: unexpected events and rival teams can derail players’ plans. Success depends on teamwork, timing, and a little luck.
Exploring the Distant Past
Beyond contemporary issues, the company’s “What’s the Best Answer?” series dives into ancient history through social, discussion-based gameplay. Ancient World explores humanity’s earliest chapters, from the emergence of early hominids to the Neolithic period. Players draw cards containing questions or statements about prehistory, then respond through discussion or short performances — whoever offers the best answer claims the card.
Following on its heels, Ancient Empires continues the journey into the rise of the first great civilizations in Egypt, Greece, Mesopotamia, and the broader Middle East. The same format encourages lively conversation while teaching players about the foundations of culture, innovation, and power.
Games That Make You Think
Whether it’s speculating on the future of the art world, navigating the complexities of modern economics, or debating ancient technological marvels, ALB Games is pioneering a new intersection between knowledge, play, and storytelling.
With Art Market and Builder soon to hit shelves — and the Ancient World series continuing to grow — this innovative approach suggests a renaissance for interactive learning and social gaming in both print and audio form.
About ALB Games
The games are published by ALB Games, a division of American Leadership Books. The games are based on current trends and social issues, and they are designed to be both entertaining and stimulate discussion about these topics. They are produced as books with cards you can print, cut out, and play. Players can play just for fun or include a discussion of the issues on the cards.
ALB Games has also published games on scams (Scamalot) and on prisons (Life in Prison and Love Behind Bars). Other games have been published on achieving success (The Success Game) and having better relationships (The Relationships Game). The publisher of ALB Games was inspired to create the games as a result of specializing in books on criminal justice, social issues, and politics and publishing some books on the subjects featured in these games.
Many of these books were also turned into films. These books include: The Big Con about a book-to-film scam; I Was Scammed: The Many Scams Today and How to Avoid Becoming a Victim, Scams in the Digital Age, Women with Partners in Prison; The Costly U.S. Prison System; and Crime in America. The films based on these books include: Conned: A True Story (based on The Big Con), Con Artists Unveiled (based on I Was Scammed) Scams in the Digital Age (based on the book of the same name), Love Behind Bars (based on Women with Partners in Prison), and Breaking the Silence: Victims of Abuse about child abuse.
